Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin calls Putin’s regime ‘’Z-ombie’’
Buterin supports Russian and Belarusian protesters of Putin’s war on Ukraine
He Also Supports Russians Resisting Putin’s Regime
Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum co-founder, shares support for Russians. However, his main priority is that of Ukrainians. In detail, Buterin‘s support is directed at those Russians and Belarusians who refuse to cooperate with Putin‘s “Z-ombie“ regime against Ukraine.
Earlier this week, Riddle Editor-in-Chief Anton Barbashin tweeted that European Universities should accept Russian students expelled for protesting against the Russian war on Ukraine.
First priority is supporting Ukrainians. Second, and also really important, priority is supporting those Russians and Belarusians who refuse to let Putin’s Z-ombie regime represent them and take action to oppose it. https://t.co/cxpf5oZUiw

The reason for Buterin’s ‘’Z-ombie” usage is because the letter ‘’Z’’ was seen painted on the sides of Russian tanks seizing Ukraine. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, ‘’Z’’ is from the preposition ‘’Za’’ in “Za pobedu,” which means ‘’For Victory’’ in Russian.
Earlier, Barbashin tweeted that St-Petersburg University kicked out 13 students for participating in anti-war protests. But, the University authorities said it is away from politics and does not apply disciplinary measures to students for their political affiliations.

Moreover, Buterin had remarked that Ukrainians were not the only ones suffering from war. ‘’Also people in Yemen, Ethiopia… just as human as Ukrainians and you are,’’ he said. He goes on to add that this was, however, not a valid excuse to not care about Ukrainians. It means we should ‘’self-reflect and extend our compassion’’ to others too.
Buterin is a Russian-born Canadian programmer who earlier tweeted on Putin’s declaration of war, saying that even though Ethereum was neutral, he was not.
Besides Buterin’s positive comments for anti-war activists and Ukrainians, his company Ethereum has donated big bucks to Ukraine and NGOs helping Ukrainians. Cryptocurrencies like BTC and DOGE have also contributed huge amounts of money for the same.
